This region known
as the Solu Khumbu is known around the world as the famous
home of the world's highest mountain. Mt. Everest or Sagarmatha
as the Nepalese call it rises 8,848 meters into the sky.
The hike to the base camp attracts trekkers from all over
the Globe. This treks start and end in the closest airstrip
to Everest in the town of Lukla. If you are looking for
a much longer trek in this region we can start treks in
the town of Jiri which is 5 days away from Lukla

| Day to day itinerary |

Day
01: Arrival
& transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu. Sightseeing
Spots are Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swyambhunath
Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square.
Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2600m) then trek Phakding (2800m).
Fly to Lukla (9200 feet) / trek to Phakding.
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3450m).Cross the
Bhote Kosi River / climb steeply up to the Namche Bazaar.
Namche is the main local business centre for the Khumbu region.
Day 05: Namche Bazzar to Khumjung (3880m). Short trek
up to Khumjung village / rest day for acclimatisation / side
treks available.
Day 06: Khumjung to Tengboche (3880m).Trek down to
the river / climb steeply up to Tengboche Monastery through
forests of blue pine, fir and black juniper.
Day 07: Tengboche to Pheriche.Tengboche Monastery /
trek Pangboche / over a short hill to the small village of
Periche.
Day 08: Acclimatisation day.A day is spent acclimatising
/ side trek to a spectacular view point above Dingboche.From
here it is possible to view Mt Taweche / Ama Dablam 6812m
/ Island Peak and Makalu 8463m / return Periche.
Day 09: Pheriche to Lobuche. Short climb through the
moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to Lobuche.
Day 10: Lobuche / Gorakshep(5545m) / Everest Base Camp
/ Gorakshep. Early start / trek to Gorakshep / From Gorakshep
it takes about two hours to reach Everest Base Camp. Pumori
7161m, with its steep ice walls and hanging glaciers towers
above / trek back Gorakshep.
Day 11: Trek back via Lobuche to Pangboche. Leisurely
morning / trek down to Pangboche.
Day 12: Pangboche to Namche Bazaar. After viewing the
Gompa at Pangboche / trek via Phortse to Namche.
Day 13: Namche to Phakding easy trek to Phakding..
Day 14: Phakding to Lukla short trek to Lukla / p.m.
at leisure.
Day 15: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. Early morning
flight / transfer hotel. / p.m. at leisure. |
