The Langtang valley is a beautiful alpine valley now a National Park in the Nepal Central Himal bordering Tibet situated 120 kms north of Kathmandu. Langtang is considered to be one of the best short treks in Nepal; a trek that takes you to the foot of the Nepal Himal without too much exertion.There is also an extensive glacier system worth viewing in the upper stretches of the valley. Tamange’s the major ethnic group inhabiting the valley are Tibetan in all aspects but for twenty miles. Most people following the Langtang trek will either trek in and out the valley (around seven/eight days) or combine the valley with a trek through Helambu then trek back almost to Kathmandu.
