Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trekking

Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trekking

Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trekking

The Dhaulagiri Himal is separated from the Annapurna region by Kali Gandaki gorge, the deepest gorge in the world; it includes some fifteen peaks above 7000m. This region is remote with an abundance of Himalayan peaks, hidden valleys, high passes and sweeping vistas. This Trans-Himalayan journey has challenging terrain and it is a relatively strenuous one but for trekkers willing to spend their holidays amid  some fantastic nature, peace and tranquility find this area extremely rewarding. Mount Dhaulagiri (8137m), the seventh highest peak in the world, stands dominant and in the mountaineering fraternity, it is known as a particularly difficult mountain to summit.

This journey is recommended for experienced high altitude trekkers in very good physical condition. The route is possible only in the autumn season due to excessive snow and ice conditions in the winter and spring. The region is practically virgin territory for trekkers providing some extremely dramatic contrasts.
