This tour begins with the flight crossing over the Himalayas to Lhasa. After spending three days to visit the lure of Lhasa, the most fascinating capital city of the roof of the World dominated by the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Potala Palace, we head riding on following the Kerung Highway through some of the most amazing landscape on Earth and staying in the best traditional hotels Tibet has to offer. We will cross the spectacular Khumbi-La Pass, separated Tibetan settlements, nomadic herdsmen wandering across the wide arid plains, array of prayer flags, glaciers, and snow covered mountain ranges. Day 1: KATHMANDU-LHASA (3650 M), 90 KMS
Transfer to airport Kathmandu to Lhasa flight. Our Tibet representative will transfer to the Hotel.
Day 2: LHASA
Sightseeing tour of Potala, the winter palace of the Dalai Lama; Drepung, the biggest monastic university of Tibet & Nechung Monastery, temple of the State oracle of Tibet with Guide.
Day 3: LHASA
Sightseeing tour of Jokhang, the central cathedral of Tibet, Barkhor, the bustling Lhasa market encircling the Jokhang Temple, Tibetan Medical Center & Norbulingka Palace with Guide.
Day 4: LHASA-GYANTSE ( 3990 M )
Drive via Yamdrok, the Turquoise Lake to Gyantse across Kampa la pass 5050 m & Karo la (5045 m)passes. Visit Kubum stupa & Pelkor Chode Monastery.
Day 5: GYANGTSE-SHALU-SHIGATSE ( 3860 M )
Drive to Shigatse. Visit Shalu Monastery. Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the seat of Panchen Lama who is the 2nd in the Buddhist religious hierarchy & Shigatse Market.
Day 6: SHIGATSE-SAKYA-SHEGAR/DINGRI ( 4350 M )
Drive to Shear across Tsoula pass ( 4500 M ) & Gyatso la pass ( 5220 M ). Visit Sakya Monastery.
Day 7: SHEGAR-KERUNG ( 2700 M )
Today we will ride an exotic drive from Shegar to Kerong (2700m). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8:KERUNG- KATHMANDU
Early morning drive for 123km from Kerong all the way to Kathmandu (1400m) .Overnight in kathmandu.
