The entry points at the Nepal-India border are, Kakarbhitta, Birgunj, Belahiya (Bhairahawa) Nepalgunj, Dhangadi and Mahendra Nagar. The only northern entry point at Nepal-China border is Kodari/Kerung.
Kathmandu is connected with India through the fertile plains of the Terai by some of the most picturesque highways with daily bus services to Kathmandu from all border points. The interior parts of the country are also linked with a number of motor-able roads. Buses for the different parts of the country are available at the Gongabu bus terminal, which is located near Balaju on the ring road, Kathmandu. There are also many good tourist buses on the Kathmandu Pokhara route. Visitors are permitted to drive their own cars, but their vehicles must possess an international carnet.
The Tribhuvan airport in Kathmandu is Nepal’s only international airport. The important airlines that serve Kathmandu are Indian Airlines, Thai International, Singapore Airlines, Bangladesh Biman, China Southwest Airlines, Druk Air and Qatar Airways.
