Annapurna Base Camp Trekking

Annapurna Sanctuary ! Annapurna Base Camp Trekking !

The Most popular trek in the Annapurna region is the Annapurna Sanctuary/Annapurna Base camp (ABC) Trek. The trail leads to the Base Camp of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre and it is a relatively short trek that can be completed in 10 days starting and ending in Pokhara.

There are two trek in points to begin this  particular trek either from Nayapul/Birethanti which, is reached by driving 1-2 hours out of Pokhara.

Annapurna Base Camp

Starting from Nayapul we trek up to Ghorapani for a spectacular sunrise view of both the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Nepal. Trek along the ridge down through a river bank to reach Tadapani. The next day, trek down through a wood to the kyumnu khola before a climb up to the trail that leads on to Chomrong. After leaving Chomrong we say goodbye to all permanent settlements. The trek climbs through dense bamboo jungle to finally rise above the vegetation line and makes for a narrow notch between the sheer lower flanks of Machhapuchhre and Hiunchuli. Once we passed the sanctuary the trek ascended through glacial moraine and up to a cluster of hut (“Machhapuchhre Base Camp”) where many people stayed overnight. An hour walking from MBC you will  reach Annapurna Base camp (4130m). The views within the basin are spectacular, people either spend the whole day here and lodge overnight or a couple of hours before trekking back the way they came. There is an opportunity on the return to bathe in the hot spring at Jhinu.
