Explore the Kanchenjunga base camp trek, one example of the remoteness and wilderness area rich in Tibetan culture and lifestyle. 

Trekking is relatively strenuous and remote in a region rich in natural beauty, it is habitat to numerous wild animals with birds and exotic plants. It is also a region of glaciers which add to the overall experience. Sherpas inhabit the northern part of the Kanchenjunga region Rai, Limbu, Magar, Tamang, Brahman and Chhetri dominate the south.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu &  transfer hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Hille (1990m). Fly (45 minutes) to Biratnagar then drive (5 hours) to Hile. Hile is a charming town with a main street of busy shops. The town is of mixed Chhetri, Magar, Tamang, Limbu, Rai, heritage .
Day 03: Trek Hile Shiduwa  (2,237m) via Jora Bhatti village. Clear weather provides good views of distant snow- capped peaks .

Day 04: Trek Shidua to Door Pani:The day provides splendid panoramic views of Mt Makalu (8,356m)  Mt Chamlang (7,207m) .
Day 05: Trek Door Pani to Gupha Pokhara (2,980m) Trek through rhododendron and bamboo forest, past small ponds and scattered farmhouses to the village of Gupta Pokhari. We camp near a small stone house adorned with Tibetan prayer flags, Rai and Limbu culture is very much in evidence .
Day 06: Trek Gupha Pokhari  to  Nesum:We cross the pass at 2,980m / trek down to Nesum (1,991m) via Gurja Gaun .
Day 07: Trek Nesum  to Taplejung (1,772m) .
Day 08: Trek Taplejung to  Chiruwa (1,171m) .
Day 09: Trek Chiruwa  to Sakathum (1,626m) the Yalung Glacier on the south side of Kanchanjungha can be seen on this day .
Day 10: Trek Sakathum to Ajilassa (2,400m) .
Day 11: Trek Amjilassa  to Kyapra 2,730m (rest day). Good views of the valley along with several open yak grazing pastures with clear side streams which provide a good water supply .
Day 12: Trek Kyapra village to Ghunsa village (3,480m).
Day 13:Trek Ghunsa village  to Khambachen:View of Mt Jannu (the mystery peak 7,594m) / trek Khambachen (4,069m).
Day 14: Rest day & side treks.
Day 15:Trek Khambachen  to Lhonk. Trek through lateral moraine with the Kanchenjunga glacier clearly in view and follow moraine to the junction of Lhonak Glacier and the valley . After crossing the junction reach Lhonak (7,409m).
Day 16: Trek Side treks around Lhonak (4700m).Day trip to Pangpema to observe the glaciers plus good mountain views.
Day 17: Trek  Lhonak  to  Ghunsa Village (4700m). Trek back on the same route.
Day 18: Trek Ghunsa  to  Ramche or Tserang:Trek over the Miring La pass (4,805m). to reach Tserang.
Day 19: Tserang. Rest day.
Day 20: Trek Terang / Ramite Bhanjyang (3,201m):Trek to Torotan (2,943m) through rhododendron forest to Ramite Bhanjyang.
Day 21: Trek Ramite Bhanjyang  to Yamphudin:Trek steeply down to Omja Khola / on to Dub Bhanjyang pass (2,357m) / trek down to Yamphudin.
Day 22: Trek Yamphudin  to Ponphe (1,652m):Trek to Kabell Khola / trek up to Manaka, a Limbu village / trek Ponphe.
Day 23: Trek Ponche to Khunjari (1577m).
Day 24: Trek Khujari to Taplejung (2237m).
Day 25: Fly to Kathmandu via Biratnagar 
Day 26: Warm Departure.
