If you are looking for a much longer trek in this region we can start treks in the town of Jiri which is 5 days away from Lukla.Our journey begins with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to the Mountain airstrip at Lukla in the heart of the Khumbu Region. There follows a fairly easy day of around three hours to our first stop Phakding. We continue North up the Dudh Kosi Valley to Namche Bazaar, quite a hard day, where we spend a day acclimatizing, eating good food and accommodation. From Namche it is mainly a gradual push up to Kala Pattar and Everest Base Camp resting one day in Dingboche or Pheriche for some side trips and further acclimatization. After some spectacular close up views of Everest along with Nuptse Lhotse and Mount Pumori we retraced to Lukla for our flight to Kathmandu. Today as per your scheduled flight our representative from Champawati Tours will welcome you to the Kathmandu International Airport and drop you at your respective hotel in Thamel. The afternoon will be a briefing session about the entire Kalapatthar Trek and also introduce the entire trekking team.
Today as per our flight schedule, we will be escorted towards our domestic airport for a short flight towards Lukla along with our trekking guide.
With the majestic views of the Himalayas, we will land at the Lukla airport, after having a cup of tea/coffee we will hike towards Phakding through the forest, passing by small settlement villages, farmland, etc.This will be a warm-up and easy hike with stunning views around. Overnight in Phakding
As per our day’s itinerary, we will have our breakfast and start our hike towards Namche Bazaar. Today will be a moderate hike uphill into the Khumbu region of Nepal.
We will cross the suspension bridge with fluttering praying flags all around over Dudh Koshi River to enter the Sagarmatha National Conservation Areas. The checkpoint at the entrance will be guarded by the army to take a record of trekkers, to make sure they are safely back through the same entry point.
Passing through the entrance gate of the UNESCO-listed Sagarmatha National Conservation Area; we hike all the way uphill to reach Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the only popular town of the entire Khumbu region and also the official headquarters as well.
People from the surrounding villages trek towards Namche to buy and sell their products, making the town a bit busy will local sellers and buyers along with Yaks to carry their goods. Above all, Namche Bazaar is a popular tourist destination with bars, bakeries, banking facilities, hospitals, restaurants, etc. Overnight in Namche Bazaar
This will be our acclimatization day to cope up with the altitude of the Khumbu region in the coming days. Thus, to make it easy going our trekking guide will help us to hike towards Khumjung to be into Everest View Hotel, one of the Gunnies World Records of being the highest placed hotel, in terms of its altitude.
Everest View Hotel in Khumjung is a magnificent spot for the 360° panoramic views of the mighty Himalayas including Mt. Everest. We will be spending a couple of hours with some tea/coffee and descend towards Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar
With some ascending uphill from Namche Bazaar; we can explore the magnificent vista of surrounding villages and Namche itself.
Further, we descend towards a deep forest to cross the Dudh Koshi River through a suspension bridge, before making a final climb towards Tengboche.
We will visit Tengboche monastery, one of the popular monasteries of the entire Khumbu region popular for mediation, and further hike towards our lodge.Overnight in Tengbuche
A moderate day for us after our breakfast, as we pass through pine and rhododendron forest towards a small village called Deboche.
Further climbing some uphill we will reach a planned area to explore magnificent views of the Himalayas with clear blue sky overhead. As we ascend uphill green vegetation started to diminish due to high altitude.Finally, we will be in Dingboche, a small village and popular for the splendid view of Mt. Lhotse (8501m).Overnight in Dingbuche
We are heading nearer to our final destination point which is Kalapatthar, so the last acclimatization day will be in Dingboche. To utilize our free day, we will hike towards Nangkartsang hill or towards Chhuking Ri.
This will be some 4-5 hour hiking trail both way, Nangkartsang hill and Chhuking Ri are both a majestic point to explore the greater Himalayas of the Khumbu region.Overnight in Dingbhuche
This will be a slow hiking day for us because of its altitude, as we climb higher we can experience the layer of oxygen getting thinner, so we will hike at a nominal pace with frequent stops to take our breath.
Due to less vegetation, the trail will be clear with the majestic view of Mt. Nuptse, we pass by praying flag, Chorten, and praying wheel all the way until we reach a small village called Lobuche.Overnight in Lobuche
This will be an exciting day for us because today we will be able to explore Everest Base Camp. We hike slower to reach Gorakshep, unpacking our belongings and after having our lunch we hike towards Everest Base Camp, the base of the highest mountain on earth Mt. Everest.
This will be a lovely experience and a great spot to steep our feet, during the climbing season, we will be able to explore tented camps all around with climbers ready for their summit.With memorable pictures and videos, we descend towards Gorakshep. Overnight in Gorakshep
Maximum Altitude: This will be a challenging day as well as the earliest morning day for our entire trek, according to our guide instruction, we wake up around 4 am for a hike towards Kalapatthar the highest elevation point of our entire trek.
This will be one of the loveliest days for us, as we ascend towards 5545 meters to explore the mighty Himalayas. Kalapatthar is one of the best spots to explore the Himalayas of the Khumbu region. It is a 360°panoramic viewpoint as well; moreover, the sunrise view over the Himalayas will be a mouth-watering experience.
Spending a couple of hours in Kalapatthar, we further descend towards Gorakshep for our breakfast and descend towards Pheriche through the same trail.Overnight in Pheriche
Hiking downhill will be a bit easier for us, as we descend all the way from Pheriche to Namche bidding farewell to the Himalayas. We pass by Tengboche and reach the final point over the Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar will be waiting for us to serve with its all facilities which we missed all the way uphill. We can enjoy a hot shower and explore the final view of Namche before we descend the other day.Overnight in Namche
Bidding farewell to Namche we descend towards the entry point of Sagarmatha Conservation Area to input our recode. Further, we pass by Monjo village and crossing suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River we will reach Phakding.
As we descend downhill, the trail will be easy-going with greenery and villages, with farmland and locals all the way before we reach Lukla.Overnight in Lukla
Today will be our last day in the Khumbu region of Nepal, we will take our early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.
On our arrival at Kathmandu airport, a representative from Discover Altitude will escort you to your respective hotel in Thamel.

It was listed in the UNESCO Heritage Monument in 1979 After Lunch proceeded for a city tour of Kathmandu visiting Durbar Square, a complex of palaces, courtyard and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. In the afternoon visit the Swoyambunath Stupa and Patan City. Swoyambhunath Stupa, atop the hillock is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal enlisted in the World Heritage Site.later visit ancient city of Patan Durbar Square, Tibetan Refugee Camp and Handicraft Industrial Estate. Patan City is an enchanting melange of palace buildings, artistic courtyard and former palace complex. One remarkable monument here is a 16th century temple dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Krishna, built entirely of stone.
