Itinerary

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Our representatives will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. After refreshment, you will be briefed in short about your tour by our guide or tour leader. If you have any questions or doubts about your trip, then they should be asked and clarified at this time. The Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek officially commences this day with an early morning drive to Jiri from Kathmandu that spans roughly 8-9 hours. You will cover approximately 130 km this day, followed by striking views of the eastern mountain range, including Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, and others.

After the scenic drive from the Kathmandu Valley to Jiri, you will arrive at Bhandar for the night, traveling through the verdant hills, green valleys, raging rivers, cascading waterfalls, and distant mountain views.

Though it's the third day of your overall journey, it is the first day of the trek that begins from Bhandar. The trekking trail at first drops down to the shimmering Likhu Khola and then follows Kenja to begin ascending to Chimbu. On the way, you may get to observe an extensive variety of wildlife.

In about 6 hours, you would have made it to the destination of the day, Sete, for the night with the stunning views of terraced farms, typical mountain villages, and vibrant rhododendron forests below that you passed through in the day.

The trek of the day is quite challenging and equally rewarding as you move through the scenically pleasing forests of rhododendron, birch, and magnolia in the Solu Khumbu region of Nepal. The Lamjura Pass is the most demanding part and also the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar with the first glimpse of Mount Everest, the top of the world.

From Lamjura Pass, the trekking trail then descends to the small yet beautiful Sherpa village of Junbesi one more time through the dense forests of rhododendron, passing via Taktor.

As usual, the day begins with a warm organic breakfast, and then today, you will head to Nun Thala, for which, in the beginning, you will move along the Junbesi Khola and cross the river on a wooden bridge to reach the trail junction. Then it follows the Khumbu trail on the left to Phurtung.

On the way, the gorgeous mountain giants such as Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, Kangtega, Mera Peak, and other neighboring peaks as you go back and forth through the densely forested area.

On this day, you will descend from Nunthala to the Dudh Koshi River and enter the agricultural land of Rai and Sherpa. The trail is well-trodden and defined, meandering through terrace fields that reach Khairkhola, Jubing, and eventually Bupsa for the night.

Set amidst the Buddhist monastery in the center of the skyscraping hills and mountains, the sense of tranquility is like never before to admire to the fullest as you spend the night in one of the local guest houses.

On the eighth day of the Jiri to Everest Base Camp (EBC) trip, you will wake up with the mesmerizing views of the valleys and mountains above and leave Bupsa behind to reach Surkhe for the night.

The trail ascends from Buspa to Khari La Pass, which then continues through the forests of oak and rhododendron with occasional encounters of langur monkeys along with superb views of peaks such as Cho-oyu (8201 m), Numbu (6960 m), Thamserku (6629 m), and Gyangchung Kang (7922 m). In about 5 hours, you will have reached Surkhe for the night.

Now, you will depart from Sukhey and head to Phakding, which is approximately a 5-hour walk along the Dudh Koshi River tributary during the initial hours and then directly towards Chaurikharka in the north.

On the way you will cross spectacular deep gorges with high waterfalls, adding much to the thrill of jaunting through the villages such as Mushe, Chhiplung, and last but not least, Phakding, on the way to the classic Everest Base Camp route.

Following the breakfast at a lodge in Phakding, you will continue through the Dudh Khoshi River, gushing waterfalls, cultural and natural attractions, Sherpa villages, and vibrant forests that take a short break at Monjo, serving as the gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park, where your permits will be checked.

Thereafter, there are ascending trails to Namche Bazaar, a renowned Sherpa town offering exclusive views of Kusum Kangru, Thamserku, Nuptse, and Everest.

It is an extra day in Namche Bazar for acclimatization, so you can adjust well to the high altitude without any issues of acute mountain sickness and a successful ascent to the Everest Base Camp (EBC). For it, you can choose to climb Everest Hotel, Thame, Kunde, or Khumjung, all with exceptionally beautiful 360-degree views of the surrounding Himalayas.

In the afternoon or evening, you can use your spare time to explore the Namche Bazaar, including its Sherpa Museum, typical mountain villages, and nearby monasteries, and chat with Sherpas for a closer insight into the life of locals.

The destination of the day is one of the major cultural, religious, and spiritual highlights of the Everest Base Camp Trekking Trail, Tengboche Monastery. To reach here, you will move forth to Phungithanga from Namche Bazaar and then the thickly packed rhododendron forests.

Throughout the day, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of Kwongde (6187m), Tawache (6542m), Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7855m), Lhotse (8618m), Amadablam (6856m), and Thamserku (6608m), among which Ama Dablam appears to be closest from Tengboche Buddhist Monastery as you stop by here to spend the night.

The morning view of the mountains surrounding the Tengboche Monastery is to die for, added to much by warm tea or coffee and breakfast before you traverse the trail leading to Dingboche from Tengboche. Most of the morning is through the Imja Tse Khola, passing by birches, conifers, and forests of rhododendrons.

Along the way, you will come across several mani walls, chortens, and prayer flags around the quaint yet beautiful villages watched over by the mythical views of Ama Dablam, eventually marking arrival at Dingboche with the soul-stirring view of Island Peak. Lying at a high altitude, you may notice the change in air getting crispier, so maintain your pace as much as possible.

On the 13th day, you will continue the walk through the Alpine region from Dingboche to reach Lobuche in proximity to the Everest Base Camp (EBC). The trail is a gentle ascent and then down to Pheriche village, continuing north for up to 1 hour. On the way, you will cross the enthralling Thukla glacier and climb up the hill offering panoramic views of Mt. Tawache, Ama Dablam, Pokalde, Kongma Tse, and Nuptse, finally concluding at Lobuche.

The day you have been waiting for is finally here when you will reach your dream destination, the Everest Base Camp (EBC). For it, at first, you will reach Gorak Shep from Lobuche, which is through the narrow space between the moraine of the glacier and the wall. The descent is comparatively short, and by lunchtime, you will have already made it to Gorak Shep, where you will leave your luggage and begin climbing to the Everest Base Camp (EBC).

The trek from Gorak Shep to EBC is the most challenging and rewarding section of the entire journey to Everest Base Camp from Jiri that follows the rocky moraine path, observing glacial ponds, icebergs below, and the eye-blinding Khumbu Glacier above. The sense of achievement on being at the footstand of the top of the world is unmatchable before returning to Gorak Shep for yet another night.

The day begins earlier than usual to catch the otherworldly sunrise view from Kala Patthar, also the highest point of the journey to the Everest Base Camp. The trekking trail is relatively ascending, rewarding you with a 360-degree panoramic view of Mount Everest and the neighboring mountain giants.

After spending adequate time in Kala Patthar, you will begin your return journey, which initiates with a trip back to Gorak Shep and then a gradual descent to Pheriche to rest for the night at a guest house.

The retracing of the route continues. The main goal of the day is to reach Namche Bazaar, which is mostly in a descending manner from Pheriche through Pangboche and then Tenboche with a significant drop to Phuki Thanga through the pine forests. Here, on your lucky day, you may get to see wildlife such as mountain goats, snow leopards, and colorful pheasants.

The descending trail continues until you arrive at Namche Bazar for the night!

Same as the previous day, the trek time, though longer, is aesthetically pleasing, consisting of a steep descent before crossing the suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. From here, the trail becomes more flat. You will walk past forests of Rhododendrons and pine trees along with the view of the snow peaks in the distance before reaching Phakding. After taking lunch, you will be continuing the trek to Lukla. The last night with this crew trek will be memorable. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

On the last day, you will be thanking the porters, who were a crucial part of the trek. From Lukla, you will board a one-hour flight back to Kathmandu. If the flight is on schedule, it is likely to be back at the hotel before noon, and you can have a good shower and rest in the afternoon. In the evening, you will rejoin the team for a celebratory dinner in Kathmandu.

It was listed in the UNESCO Heritage Monument in 1979 After Lunch proceeded for a city tour of Kathmandu visiting Durbar Square, a complex of palaces, courtyard and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. In the afternoon visit the Swoyambunath Stupa and Patan City. Swoyambhunath Stupa, atop the hillock is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal enlisted in the World Heritage Site.later visit ancient city of Patan Durbar Square, Tibetan Refugee Camp and Handicraft Industrial Estate. Patan City is an enchanting melange of palace buildings, artistic courtyard and former palace complex. One remarkable monument here is a 16th century temple dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Krishna, built entirely of stone.
