Itinerary

On the first day, arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal. Upon arrival, our staff from Champawati tours will warmly welcome you and assist you with checking in to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring at your own pace.

After breakfast proceed for city tour of Kathmandu visiting Durbar Square, complex of palaces, courtyard and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, use to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. In the afternoon visit the Swoyambunath Stupa and Patan City. Swoyambhunath Stupa, atop the hillock is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal enlisted in the World Heritage Site. Patan City is an enchanting melange of palace buildings, artistic courtyard and former palace complex. One remarkable monument here is a 16th century temple dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Krishna, built entirely of stone.
The second day is scheduled for extra rest, preparing for the trek. Familiarize yourself with our team, and get a sound brief on the trip. Check the trekking plans, routes, and schedules, and ask any queries you may have. Moreover, confirm that your gears are well-packed and all set.

The day starts with an exhilarating flight to Lukla from Kathmandu during non-peak season, including Jan, Feb, Jun, Jul, Aug, and Dec or Ramechhap/Manthali Airport in peak season. It always depends on your travel season.

Upon reaching Lukla, also known as Tenzing Hillary airport and the starting point of the trek, early in the morning, have a warm breakfast and meet your porter.

Today, we will hike to Phakding, following Dudh Koshi Khola. We will be passing beautiful villages like Chepplung and Thado Koshigaun, offering a glimpse of Local Culture and Traditions. Enjoy the stunning views of Kusum Khangkaru that you can see while trekking. After a short hike, we reach Phakding. If time permits, visit Pemacholing Gompa there. Observe traditional Buddhist practices.

Today, on the second day of the trek, we continue the trail alongside Dudh Koshi towards a popular trading hub, Namche Bazaar. Namche is eventually the gateway to Everest Base Camp and Mount Everest.

After a short hike, we will enter the protected area, Sagarmatha National Park. Crossing five suspension bridges today, along with one notable, the Hillary Suspension Bridge, high above 135 m from Dudh Koshi River with a distance of 60 meters long. Before crossing the bridge, walk across the eye-catching village of Jorsalle.

Ascending with a steep climb with stunning sights of majestic Himalayas, prayer flags with mantras, mani walls, and the first view of Mighty Mount Everest. Observing these astonishing sights, we will eventually reach the beautiful Sherpa town called Namche Bazaar.

There is a risk while hiking at higher altitudes. To overcome this, we have planned this day for an acclimatizing day at Namche.

Namche Bazar has been the main trading hub of the Khumbu area since ancient times and has been run by local Sherpas. Today, you will walk slowly to National Park Headquarters and the Sherpa Museum to get a brief insight into the local culture and nature.

Hike up to Everest View Hotel or EVH, passing by the highest hotel in Nepal, Syangboche Airport. Everest Hotel is renowned as the world's highest hotel, one of the best spots in Everest to watch the panoramic view of majestic mountains, including the supreme Mt. Everest. Return to Namche for an overnight stay.

Today, we will trek from Namche to Tengboche through lush green rhododendrons and pine forests along the Dudh Koshi River with rocky trails.

Get stunning views of Nuptse, Lhotse Shar, and distant views of Everest, Nuptse (7,849 m), and Ama Dablam (6,812 m). Hiking a little further, you reach Phungi Thanga (Thenga) before reaching Tengboche.

Tengboche is a small village in Sherpa, and it is popularly known for the largest Buddhist Monastery in the Khumbu region of Nepal- Tengboche Monastery.

The Monastery holds spiritual and religious significance to the local Sherpa people. Great Festivals of Local Sherpas are held in this Gompa, such as Gyalpo Lhosar, famous Mani Rimdu, and Dumji.

The 7th day of Everest Base Camp Trek will be more challenging. After a night in Tyangboche, we will trek to Dingboche. With a Morning Prayer session at the Tengboche Monastery, the treks proceed to oldest nunnery in Nepal, Sherpa Choling Gompa or Deboche nunnery.

Moving forward, you will be at Pangboche village, which consists of the oldest Buddhist Monastery in the Everest Region, Pal Rilbu Gompa, with over 3 centuries of history.

Witnessing these, head towards Dingboche and get rewarded with a splendid view of Mount Ama Dablam. Pass by the alpine forest crossing the Imja River. Finally, after Somare, Orsho, and Imja Valley, with a short steep climb, the trek ends in the village of Dingboche this day.

This will be our second acclimatization day after Namche; we rest and hike. To prevent altitude sickness, we will hike to Nagarjun Hill to adapt to changing temperatures, surroundings, and increasing elevations.

You can experience stunning gigantic mountains like Mt. Makalu, Ama Dablam, Lobuche, awe-inspiring Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cholatse, and Kangtega. You can see Mt. Makalu (8,485m), the 5th highest mountain, only from this peak in the EBC trek. So, don't miss out on it!

After a short acclimatization hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m), explore the local village or rest in the Dingboche teahouse.

Today, leaving behind Dingboche, we will trek towards Lobuche after an easy trek to Thukla. The surroundings become barren from here, but the views of Cholatse and Taboche are startling.

The trail leads us toward Khumbhu Glacier (the largest glacier in Nepal) and stone shrines built in memory of those climbers who perished during the Everest Expeditions at Thukla Pass.

Continuing our journey, we will hike through grassy valleys and rocky terrain to Lobuche village. This area has no permanent settlements. The mountain views of Taboche, Nuptse, and Pumori looming over the teahouses are splendid.

The 10th day of this trip is the most awaited; today, we will reach our ultimate trek goal, Everest Base Camp. There are two sections for today. First, we will trek to Gorakhep in the morning, and then, finally, we will go to Mount Everest Base Camp.

Leaving Lobuche behind, moving forward, we can see the Italian Research Center in the shape of a Pyramid. Continuing the hike toward Gorakhsep while enjoying the views of the Majestic Himalayas.

We will put our belongings in Gorakshep teahouses and head toward the base camp.

The accomplishment of reaching the Base of the world's highest mountain, Everest, rewards you with the attractive sight of the Khumbu Icefall and Glacier. Apart from the thrill of reaching the base camp, you witness the majestic Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Lhotse.

After spending some time in the base camp, we will return to Gorak Shep. And get ready to hike Kala Patar for the following morning.

It is another significant day. Today, we will march to the highest point of our journey, Everest Base Camp, Kala Pattar. Kala Patthar is the best Everest viewpoint. Although the trial is short, it is a rocky and steep climb.

From Kala Pattar, you can enjoy spectacular views of Everest. You can capture the first rays of the sun, lighting Nepal's high mountains, like Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Lingtren, and Khumbutse. After the mesmerizing views, we will go down to Gorakshep and Pheriche village.

Continuing the descent, you head down to Namche Bazar early in the morning. For the return journey, revisit some places, like Somare, Pangboche, Tengboche, Phunki Tenga, and Kyangjumpa, making it a long day.

This day in Namche is a most deserving enjoyable day. There are some of the popular bakeries in the Namche Bazar. You can conclude the trek with a delicious cake, one of the popular trends among Everest trekkers. Then, enjoy your remaining time exploring the Bazaar.

Retrace the same trekking route as you descend from Namche to Lukla on this final day of the Everest Base Camp trek. Pass through familiar villages like Jorsalle, Monjo, and Phakding, which you enjoyed exploring during the ascent. For an extra dose of adventure, consider bungy jumping at the iconic Hillary Bridge for an unforgettable thrill.

Conclude your trek at Lukla with a sense of accomplishment, having completed one of the world's most iconic treks in the Nepalese Himalayas. On this final day in the Khumbu region, celebrate your success with your team and embrace the triumph of making your Everest Base Camp dream a reality.

You board a flight from Lukla Airport to Kathmandu or Ramechhap Airport early in the morning.

REGARDING THE LUKLA FLIGHT
As per the decision of the Civil Aviation Authority, Lukla flights will commence via Ramechhap during the peak season, i.e., March to May and Oct-November, due to the air traffic congestion at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), to/from Lukla flights will be held via Ramechap Manthali Airport.

Ramechhap/Manthali Airport is 132 km from Kathmandu, around a 3–4-hour drive. We will have to leave from Kathmandu approx. 2:00 am to get the flight to Lukla from Ramechap/Manthali airport.

Flight from Manthali – Lukla flight: Wake up around 2:00 am, drive to Manthali by shared tourist vehicle for about 3-4 hours, and fly to Lukla (20 minutes). Applicable for the peak trekking month of March, April, May, October, and November.

Flight from Kathmandu – Lukla flight: Wake up around 5 to 6 am and drive to the domestic airport in Kathmandu for about 30 minutes and fly to Lukla (35 minutes). Applicable for the remaining months, except peak trekking months.

The reserve day is helpful if you encounter an unexpected flight delay from Lukla on the scheduled day. However, if you land in the capital, Kathmandu, on time, utilize the extra day to tour heritage sites like Durbar Square, Monkey Temple, or Boudhanath. Alternatively, treat yourself to a spa session.
