You'll board a vehicle at Bhadrapur Airport to start your trip to Taplejung. On the blacktop road, your journey will take you across a huge scenery of high hills and low mountains. In the Illam, you will travel past the lovely tea gardens of Kanyan and Fikkal along with the cardamom forest. Today will mark the formal beginning of the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trek Itinerary. Your initial trekking route will mostly be downhill as you pass the enormous Cardamom Jungle along the Tamor River. Along the route, you will pause for a tea or coffee break before continuing your stroll on a level road. The transition from alpine to tropical vegetation begins in the second phase. Before your eyes, the mountains and steep slopes start to disappear, leaving just the boundless lowlands behind.

Along your routes, you will witness small towns and individuals earning a livelihood by laboring in the fields. A market, a few teahouses, and large rocks are the only buildings in Chirwa. The Kirati ethnic group, currently referred to as the Limbu, is a significant farming ethnic group that has been present in this area for approximately 2000 years. The main crops grown here are rice, millet, barley, wheat, and maize.

At the regional park office, your Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trek Permit will be inspected. From there, you will reach the conservation area protecting the area by crossing a suspension bridge across a river. As you go down the Tamor River's bank, you will pass by a number of classic Nepali villages, paddy fields, and a cardamom garden. The route you will follow today will also pass by several streams and waterfalls. Despite the fact that the area is home to a variety of ethnic groupings, you will get the best view possible of the Kirati people's way of life. When you get there, you will check in to your teahouse and unwind.

You will be walking today down a path built of artificial stone stairs. In contrast to the second part, which mostly consists of challenging climbs, the first phase consists mostly of uphill strolls. Your Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trekking Trail ascends to the Sherpa communities after passing by the Kirati towns in the lower area. You will have lunch in Lamatar on the side of the river before continuing on an upward trek to Amjilosa, which has a few Sherpa homes and yak pasturelands.

Early in the morning, you will begin the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trek up the hard stone stairs, going past a few landslides, little streams, and stunning waterfalls. You will continue your arduous ascent via small towns tucked away in the peaceful valley beneath the mountains, through an area heavily covered with rhododendron and old oak trees, and arrive in Gyabla for a brief lunch stop. Your first mountain vista, Kumbakarna Peak, also known as Jannu Peak, is a gift from Gyabla. Upward-sloping stone stairs will continue till Faley. The mountain walking track begins from here and takes you uphill along the Ghunsa River to Ghunsa.

According to your itinerary for the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trek, you will spend an additional day in the city core of Ghunsa to allow for acclimatization and recuperation. In this Tibetan community, there are lodges with amenities like internet access, power, charging ports, and hot and cold showers. In the historic town of Ghunsa, you may spend the day exploring temples and learning about Buddhist traditions. In order to acclimatize, you could take a day trip to one of the nearby locations.

You will start your mountain trekking journey today along the south bank of the Ghunsa Khola. Along the way, you will pass through lovely rhododendron and pine woods, as well as chortens, mani walls, and colorful prayer flags. To reach Khambachen, a Tibetan settlement from where you will get a breathtaking 360-degree mountain vista, including Jannu (7710m), Sobithongie (6670m), Phole Peak (6645m), and Khabur (6332m), you will also travel over several landslides, streams, waterfalls, and glacial moraines.

You will return to Ghunsa village by following the same route after enjoying yourself at the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp. The hike via Khambachen to Ghunsa hamlet would take you a good 5 to 6 hours. You will enjoy the spectacular mountain panoramas, rhododendron woods, and alpine scenery as you go. Enjoy your breakfast after waking up to the extremely pleasant aroma of burning juniper leaves. While doing their customary puja ceremony at home in the early morning, the entire hamlet burns the juniper leaf. You will prepare your belongings and proceed to the route leading to Amjelosa. With the exception of two hills before Amjilosa and close to Gyabla, you will be walking primarily downhill today.
