Overview

Everest Panorama Trekking features the culture of the Sherpas along with great views of Mt. Everest and many other Himalayan peaks. Accompanied by a Sherpa guide you stay for two nights and acclimatize to the altitude at Namche Bazaar, which is the hub of all trekking and climbing in the Everest region. You have the option to take a day hike to the beautiful twin-villages of Kunde and Kumjung for acclimatization purposes. After Namche, the next day you will trek to the holiest Sherpa Buddhist monastery at Thyangboche situated below the flanks of Mt. Everest. Look for the rare musk deer and the national bird of Nepal, the colourful pheasant which inhabit this region in particular but above all enjoy the most spectacular mountain scenery on the face of this Earth. Along the way you will overnight at comfortable lodges run by the charming Sherpas who have won many admirers for their hard work and endurance. The trek is not difficult and if you want to sample the charms of the Everest Area this is the best way to do it.

 

Itinerary

Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel. Briefing for trekking by our tour Manager.

You will wake up early in the morning, have your breakfast, and drive towards Tribhuvan International Airport. You will  head to the domestic terminal to take the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Before going to the airport, make sure you have all the documents with you i.e. passport, visa, copies of travel insurance, permits, etc.

The flight to Lukla is short and will take about half an hour. Yet, it’s a scenic one where you’ll enjoy the mighty view of the Himalayan range, majestic hills, and beautiful valleys. The plane lands at Tenzing Hillary Airport at Lukla. With the narrow runaway 527m at 2800m, it’s the most challenging strip to land in the world, Thus, the flight is an adventure in itself.

After reaching Lukla, you’ll head to Phakding village. On your way to Phakding, you’ll cross Thado Koshi River over a suspension bridge. Also, you pass via Gha village, witnessing a beautiful view of Mt. Kusum Kanguru. Walking for 3-4 hours, you’ll reach Phakding for your overnight stay.

Today, you will be heading to the capital of the Khumbu region. First, you will have your breakfast in Phakding. It’ll be ready by 7 am. As you leave Phakding, the trail will take you on a gradual uphill climb. The dense alpine forest will be there to welcome you.

If you’re walking in clear weather, you can spot the mighty Mt.Everest on your way too. The stretch is popular for getting the first close look of mountains including Everest, Ama Dablam, Nuptse. Also, you will cross Hillary Suspension Bridge over Dudh Koshi and then reach Namche Bazaar.

This famous Sherpa town is one of the major stops and is majestic on its own. You’ll realize it, once you get there. Besides the view, it’s famous for lovely local restaurants, bakery-cafes, Tibetan shops and stalls, and a good number of guest houses.

Namche Bazaar is the largest settlement in the Everest region and one of the major highlights of the Everest Panorama trek. This delightful village has a lot to offer. So, it would be a great day to have a day break here. Also, this rest day would help to acclimatize and adapt your body to the increasing altitudes.

On this day, you won’t be resting for the whole day. Rather, you will take a stroll around the surroundings like Shangbouche Hill at 3900m. If you could make it to the top on time, you’ll get lovely views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and even Everest. Also, the area is peaceful and gives a perfect Himalayan atmosphere.

Another option is to visit the Sherpa Museum (3555m). This traditional museum depicts the Sherpa culture and gives more information on Sagarmatha National Park and the Everest region of Nepal. You will even encounter a massive statue of Tenzing Norgay there. Similarly, other options are to visit Nauche Gonda Visitor center, Namche markets & stalls, etc. Hence, this day will be fun & productive, where you’ll learn & explore more about Sherpa culture and Namche’s surroundings.

 

Leaving Namche, you will head to the first stretch of your Everest Panorama Trek. It will be Thame village. It lies at the end of the old Tibetan trade route in Khumbu, which extends from Tingri to Nangpa La. You will be walking a distance of 9.7km along a good trail from Namche. In the middle, you’ll have your lunch, upon reaching Theshyo Khola.

Walking a few hours further, you will reach Thame. And there are a lot of things to explore here. The village itself lies beneath the mountain wall of the Kongde peak. So, you’ll have a serene mountainous atmosphere. Another highlight of this place is the old Thame monastery. It lies on a high cliff and offers a majestic view of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Everest.

Out of all, the place is off the major route to Everest Base Camp. So, it will have less number of visitors. This means you can explore this traditional village on your own peacefully, viewing the excellent mountains and walking on the side of a forested canyon. Not to forget this village is also home to the adventuresome mountaineers in the world like Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, Apa Sherpa (summited Everest 21 times), Apa Rita Sherpa (summited Everest 11 times).

Today, you’ll head to Tengboche, one of the largest monasteries in the Khumbu area. Upon leaving Khumjung, you will meet a descending trail first. The way is famous for the incredible views of Ama Dablam, Kantega, and even Everest & Lhotse. You can keep an eye out for rare flora & fauna found in Sagarmatha National Park. It includes red pandas, pheasants, marmots, etc.

After a few hours, you’ll cross a river and pass Phunki Thanga. Thereafter, you’ll climb a forested ridge rich in colorful rhododendrons. The view from its top is another major highlight of the day. Continuing a bit more, you’ll reach Tengboche monastery. It offers the best view of Ama Dablam.

Moreover, the monastery lies in a stunning environment rich in colorful azaleas, pines, and rhododendrons. Along with the stroll, you can take the blessing of residing Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist Spiritual master. In times of festivities like Mani Rimdu, you can be part of their gathering, ritual dances, and enchantments like legendary figures. Also, there are a good number of lodges & teahouses, and camping options, so you can pick any option.

As the journey starts coming to the end, you will start retracing your steps towards lower altitudes. You’ll descend the same way you followed previously. The beautiful range of mountains will accompany the backdrop all along the way. This will ease your path of uneven, steep rocky descents. Continuing with those paths for about 4-5 hours, you’ll reach Namche.

There is still tons of stuff to do in Namche. Since your trip is almost completed, you can celebrate your trip’s success. Namche features the highest Irish pub in the world. There is no better place than the pub to have the celebration. Likewise, you can spend the evening taking small walks and buying souvenirs for your loved ones.

After 7-days of exploring the top attractions of the Khumbu region, your Everest Panorama trek comes to an end. Before taking a flight the next day, you will trek from Namche to Lukla. The trails for this day consist of a combination of ascents & descents. At the final stretch, you’ll climb a steep uphill before reaching Lukla. Throughout some portions of the trails, you get to enjoy wonderful views of mountains, rivers, small Sherpa villages (at Phakding), and waterfalls.

You will take an early flight to Kathmandu in the morning. You will witness and bid farewell to the majestic mountain ranges of Khumbu. After all, it’s your final day in this region. Right after about half an hour, you’ll arrive in Kathmandu. You will take some rest and grab your lunch in your hotel.

Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu including Pashupatinath Stupa, Swyambhnath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Sqaure & Patan Durbar Sqare.After breakfast proceed for city tour of Kathmandu visiting Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Pashupatinath Temple is situated 5 km east of Kathmandu, the temple of Lord Shiva, Pathupatinath with two tierd golden roof and silver doors is considered one of the holiest shrines of Hindus. The stupa of Boudhanath lies 8kms east of Kathmandu. This ancient colossal stupa is one of the biggest in the world and the center of Buddhism in the world. It was listed in the UNESCO Heritage Monument in 1979 After Lunch proceed for city tour of Kathmandu visiting Durbar Square, complex of palaces, courtyard and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, use to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. In the afternoon visit the Swoyambunath Stupa and Patan City. Swoyambhunath Stupa, atop the hillock is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal enlisted in the World Heritage Site .ancient city of Patan Durbar Square, Tibetan Refugee Camp and Handicraft Industrial Estate. Patan City is an enchanting melange of palace buildings, artistic courtyard and former palace complex. One remarkable monument here is a 16th century temple dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Krishna, built entirely of stone

After breakfast we say farewell to you to continue your journey or we transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
